Understand credit cards before you choose one
CardTradeoffs is a calm, neutral place to explore US personal credit cards. We explain the terms in plain language and show where every fact comes from — without rankings, affiliate pressure, or “best card” claims.
The reviewed catalog is being prepared. No unverified card facts are published in this shell.
Real records, published only after review
The directory shell is ready. Card records will appear after each factual field is connected to an official source and verification date.

How the directory works
The goal is understanding, not conversion. You browse, compare structured facts, and learn the vocabulary at your own pace.
Browse without pressure
Explore cards in a neutral list with no rankings, no “best card” badges, and no push to apply.
Read plain-language facts
Every card summarizes fees, rewards, and APR in consistent terms, with explanations beside the jargon.
See where facts come from
Each card shows its official issuer source and a last-verified date, kept separate from our commentary.
Start with the vocabulary
A few terms show up on nearly every card. Here is what they mean, in plain language.
- Annual fee
- A yearly charge some cards apply just for holding the card. Many cards charge nothing at all.
- APR
- The yearly cost of borrowing if you carry a balance. Pay in full each month and it usually does not apply.
- Welcome offer
- A one-time reward for meeting a spending requirement after opening. It is earned once, not ongoing.
- Rewards
- Value earned back on spending — as cash back, points, or miles — either flat-rate or by category.
Why you can trust what you read
Trust comes from being transparent about where facts come from and how they are reviewed.
Official issuer sources
Card facts are drawn from official issuer terms and disclosures, linked on every card detail page.
Visible verification dates
Each card shows when its facts were last checked, so you can judge how current the information is.
Editorial review
Explanations are written and reviewed for clarity, and clearly separated from verified facts.
Commercial transparency
No affiliate relationships influence this directory. If any are introduced later, they will be disclosed.
